News Story: Miss Nebraska Candidate Installs Smoke Alarms
Liv Terway and her mom installed 34 smoke alarms in the Hastings, Grand Island and Palmer area. The college student and candidate for Miss Nebraska educated families on home fire safety and is committed to making homes safer.

A group of Red Cross Disaster Services staff and volunteers provided hands-only CPR training, education about home fire prevention, and information about Red Cross Services to bilingual students at Creighton University.

Kristy (seated) sought safety in her basement as the April 26 tornado swept through Elkhorn. She found her home severely damaged and she could not reach the door. Her daughter, Nicole, helped get her to a Red Cross shelter.
