Fort Drum Dental Health Activity and the luckywin are seeking highly motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing an exciting and rewarding career in the field of dental assisting.

*The application for the 2024-2025 session has closed.* This no-cost program will run from 30 September 2024 to 18 April 2025 and include both classroom and clinical instruction. This course is taught on Fort Drum and is under the guidance of the military’s highest caliber dental providers.

**Applicant must be at least 18 years of age. Applicant must be a dependent of US military member or be an active-duty soldier. Applicant must be a US citizen or be a permanent resident for at least three years from program start date**Applications can be picked up and dropped off at the luckywin Office, located at the Family Resource Center, 11042 Mt. Belvedere Blvd., Fort Drum starting 1 July through 14 August.

The Red Cross offers free, confidential, and effective workshops to assist participants through challenges, improve wellbeing, and build skills through small-group discussion and hands-on activities. Facilitated by a red Cross mental health professional, workshops can be requested for units, SFRG meetings, military family groups and everything in between. Purpose: To provide military family members with effective methods to cope with deployment cycles.

Length: 45-60 minutes per module

Format: Facilitated by licensed mental health professionals with additional Red Cross training, presentation and group discussion.

Audience: Adult family members of service members dealing with upcoming deployment, current deployment and/or recent deployment.

Workshop Size: 5-40 participants

Free and confidential

Purpose: To support service members, veterans and their families in effectively coping with the challenges related to the various transitions within military life through hands-on, skill building activities.

Length: 60-90-120 minutes

Format: Small groups facilitated by licensed mental health professional with additional Red Cross training focused on teaching effective skills and preventive tools for the unique challenges and stresses of military life.

Workshop Size: 5-12 participants

Free and confidential

Purpose: To provide developmentally appropriate evidenced-practiced strategies to help military children navigate the challenges related to transitions within military life.

Length: 60-90 minutes

Format: Licensed mental health professionals with additional Red Cross training.

Modules offered as three separate age groups: 5-8 (taken with an adult buddy), 8-12 and 12-17.

Workshop Size: 5-10 participants

All child workshops have two Red Cross adults present.

Signed permission slip required from parent/guardian of each child before workshop.

Purpose:ÌýTo teach techniques that engage both the mind and body to address common stress reactions that occur within military families and communities.

Goal: Build awareness of the physical and emotional reactions to stress and trauma, encourage calm, effective responses to stress and teach appropriate self-regulation and self- care via clinically proven mind-body techniques.

Based on the latest scientific research showing that emotional intelligence – which is linked to higher levels of empathy, lower levels of stress and life satisfaction – can be improved through practicing mind-body techniques.

Length: 60-90-120 minutes

Format: Facilitated by licensed mental health professionals with additional Red Cross training, group discussion and mind-body practice.

Workshop Size: 5-12 participants
