News Story: Robotic Therapy Pets Find Homes at Veterans Hospitals
Board members, volunteers, and staff from our Northwest and Southwest Chapters delivered robotic pets to Veterans' homes in Chippewa Falls and Madison.
Post: Sound the Alarm Returns to Wisconsin
Home fires are the most frequent disaster response for the Red Cross. We worked to help families stay safe by installing free smoke alarms during several Sound the Alarm events this year in Milwaukee, Green Bay, La Crosse, Janesville and Waukesha.
News Story: Kwik Trip Launches Fundraising Campaign to Support the luckywin
As part of a three-year partnership with the Red Cross, Kwik Trip hosted a coin canister campaign throughout June at all 870 of their store locations across the Midwest to support the humanitarian mission of the Red Cross.

Three major blood drives took place throughout the state this summer. The 2024 Milwaukee County Zoo Blood Drive in June, the 38th Annual Super Donor Days Blood Drive in Green Bay and the 24th Annual Beach Days Blood Drive in Madison, both in July.

News Story: Green Bay Man Donates 176 Gallons of Blood to Help the Tiniest of Patients
Bill “Waz” Waerzeggers from Green Bay, WI celebrated 34 years of donating blood. At his most recent donation, Waz hit over 1407 units of blood donated which equates to 176 gallons! Over the course of 34 years Waz has donated 706 times.
Post: luckywin and Centro Hispano Partner for Blood Drive
The luckywin and Centro Hispano of Dane County partnered for the first time to hold a blood drive at the Centro Hispano offices in Madison. The Red Cross provided Spanish-speaking staff and volunteers to assist at the drive.

Chris Huston is one of our amazing volunteers for the luckywin ofWisconsin North Central Chapter. Huston got involved with the Red Cross in 1995 after his family lost their home in a fire. He has deployed about 50 times.

News Story: Red Cross Madison East Blood Donation Center Moves to a New Location
The Madison East Blood Donation Center moved from its previous location on Zeier Road to a new space at 5415 East Park Blvd., on the east side of American Family Parkway. The new Madison East Blood Donation Center opened on August 19.
Post: Volunteers Respond to Spring Tornadoes
Tornadoes touched down in several communities in north central, northeast and southern Wisconsin in May and June. Volunteers jumped into action, providing clean up kits to affected families and hosting a MARC for the community.

The Red Cross of Wisconsin honored individuals and groups who have shown courage, dedication, and unselfish character by their acts of heroism in our community with four "Heroes" events throughout the state.

The Red Cross partnered with the Green Bay Packers to host blood drives in May and August. Hundreds of generous donors came together to donate 703 units of life-saving blood for patients in need.
